Sebastopol Geese

The geese just completed their second year of laying, and we successfully incubated and hatched out goslings!  We will have eggs and/or goslings available again next laying season in 2024!

Breed Info:
The Sebastopol goose originated in southeastern Europe, with sources pointing to the region around the Black Sea. They were named after Sebastopol, a Russian city from which they were imported to the United States. The breed was developed from wild Graylag geese, which is native to Europe, and was recognized by The American Poultry Association in 1938.

Sebastopol Geese are one of the most beautiful breeds of waterfowl. They have frizzled or spiraled white feathers — long curly white feathers on the back and front which nearly touch the ground and smooth neck feathers.

Goose
"Sicily" (smooth)
Sicily is a bossy girl, and she knows it!  She is Flynn's favorite and his mate for life.

goose
"Fiona" (frizzled)
Fiona makes for double trouble - these girls definitely run the show around here, bossing everyone and every thing!

Gander
"Flynn" (Frizzled)
Flynn has become quite an amazing guard goose - we have grown to love his personality and couldn't imagine life without him on the farm!

Gander
"Finley" (Frizzled)

Finley was hatched from our incubator, as a potential mate for our girl Fiona.  He was larger than the other 2 we hatched, so we think it's a boy...but time will tell, lol!

They truly are beautiful birds!
